We have fantastic opportunities for Structural Engineers of all levels (Assistant Structural Engineers, Structural Engineers, Senior Structural Engineers, Lead Senior Structural Engineers and Principal Engineers) to work with our Bridges teams to deliver the largest civil engineering and associated infrastructure projects across Scotland with cumulative values in excess of £1bn. With shared office spaces in Motherwell, Polmadie, Edinburgh, Perth, Aberdeen and Newcastle, we offer hybrid working, attending the office when necessary, and remaining days working remotely. We welcome applications from Engineers across this region.
Amey is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Southwest and Northeast Trunk Road Network Management Contracts (NMC) on behalf of Transport Scotland. The Southwest contract began in 2020 and the Northeast in 2022 and are 8-year contracts, extendable up to 12 years. In addition to the NMC contracts, we have a diverse portfolio of major bridges, transportation and civil engineering design projects with Transport Scotland, Local Authorities, national Highways and several established contractors across the country.
Working with Amey, we provide excellent opportunities for you to be involved in some of the most exciting and challenging structural engineering projects associated with Scotland’s arterial road network, and wider field, which will enable you to further develop your technical, engineering, and professional career.
Current / Ongoing Project Highlights Include:
- £1.2bn associated with the North East and South West Trunk Road Management contracts, including management responsibility for over 5000 structures.
- Friarton Bridge, assessment and strengthening design of the Xspan twin steel box composite deck near Perth.
- The complex design and construction of load mitigation measures at the Woodside Viaducts in Glasgow.
- Structural Investigation, assessment and long term management strategy of the Kingston Bridge Complex in Glasgow.
- Design and assessment of various structural works on the Erskine Bridge, Dumbartonshire.
- The Long Term Management Of Severn, Avonmouth And Prince Of Wales Crossings With National Highways.
Delivering Projects Such As Those Listed Below:
- Severn Suspension Bridge - £500M Main Cable Augmentation Feasibility Study.
- Severn Suspension Bridge – Main Cable Assessment, Management and Mitigation.
- Severn Suspension Bridge – Hanger Replacement Study.
- Avonmouth Bridge – 174m main span box girder bridge – assessment and investigation.
- Prince of Wales Bridge – Gantry Assessment.
We also undertake a range of works with Local Authorities over the UK including:
- £3M Banff Bridge scour protection design.
- £20M Lagan Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge.
- £120m Clyde Waterfront & Renfrew Riverside.
- £80m Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland.
