Type: Full-time permanent position
NMC SW works in partnership with Transport Scotland Southwest, responsible for inspections, cyclical maintenance, asset management, scheme delivery, winter maintenance and incident response. This role will keep roads and highways well-maintained, ensuring safe and efficient travel, reducing accidents, preventing flooding, and supporting community wellbeing.
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm (earlier Friday finish) with occasional night shift. Competitive salary with overtime.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake various highway maintenance tasks, including carriageway and footway patching, kerbing, ironwork replacement, and drainage maintenance.
- Operate and maintain vehicles, including HGVs and small plant machinery, ensuring all checks and routine maintenance are completed.
- Participate in winter and summer standby duties, including emergency callouts.
- Prioritise safety of self and team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Keep accurate records and complete all necessary paperwork, maintaining communication and liaising with Amey employees, sub-contractors, emergency services, police, clients and customers.
- Experience in roads and/or street works.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Demonstrated awareness of health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Previous winter maintenance experience in a similar role.
- Holding an HGV licence (not essential).
