We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Construction Equipment Maintenance Technician Apprentice to join Complex Facilities in our Defence Equipment Account.
Salary: £24,920.81 per annum
Location: Amey Defence Equipment, Building 102, 7 Site, Beacon Barracks, Stafford, ST18 0AQ
Working Hours: 37.5 hours Monday to Friday
As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a level 3 Construction Equipment Maintenance Technician Apprentice for 36 months. You will be fully supported by our partnered college to achieve this qualification, having 1-2-1 advice and support, e-learning materials, and a whole team of experts on hand for advice and technical knowledge at your office.
Amey Defence Equipment is a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions for the Construction Plant and MHE within the MOD. The Amey Defence Equipment 3-year Apprentice Engineer training programme gives you the opportunity to become a fully qualified Forklift Truck & Powered Access Engineer. Amey Defence Equipment Engineers fault find, maintain, service and repair, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, located within an ever-growing range of Materials Handling and Powered Access Equipment.
What You Will Do
- Years 1 to 3 you will complete the 3-year apprenticeship qualification: Level 3 Construction Equipment Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship standard
- You will gain on-the job experience, starting with shadowing your mentor and other Engineers, progressing to performing tasks under supervision, then alongside qualified Engineers where your work will be checked and signed off.
- Work will be carried out on customer premises and at Amey Defence Equipment workshop locations within your specified region.
What You Will Bring
- 3 GCSEs at grade 4 / C or Scottish National 5 Grade C or above in English, Science & Mathematics (or equivalent) – Desirable
- A full or Provisional UK driving licence - Desirable
- Comfortable working outdoors in inclement weather conditions
- Comfortable completing both manual labour and administrative tasks
