We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Engineer to join our Consulting Highways team in Perth. As an Engineer you will provide support and assistance to a team working within the Pavement and Asset Management Practice to deliver a portfolio of schemes for Clients. You will help design and deliver multiple projects, including pavement condition assessments and pavement renewal schemes, ensuring the durability and safety of our roadways.
Responsibilities
- To work in a team, producing technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements, working unsupervised and supervising more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks.
- The preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation as part of the production of scheme deliverables that satisfy the overarching criteria of quality, cost and programme.
- Overseeing the actions of more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks and taking responsibility for their actions.
- Assisting on technical aspects of designs from project initiation through to completion.
- Assist in reviewing survey data to develop pavement maintenance and rehabilitation plans in collaboration with senior engineers.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for pavement projects.
- Drive effective health and safety practices within the team.
- Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings, responding to queries etc.
What You Will Bring To Us
- Relevant experience in pavement design, including detailing surveys and producing drawings.
- A good understanding of Manual for Streets, DMRB, other national standards, best practice guidance, local standards etc.
- Be confident to work under minimum supervision and competent to check the work of others and supervise less experienced or junior staff.
- Experienced with relevant software (AutoCAD) and similar analytical tools.
- A good understanding of the CDM regulations and their relevance to highway design.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Can deliver on time, within budget and to the quality required.
- Keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate apply best practice within the team.
