We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Fixed Term (3 months) Relief Caretaker/Janitor on our Renfrewshire Schools account in Gleniffer High School, Amochrie Road Paisley PA2 0AG. 40 hours per week (Shift pattern 40 hours Monday - Friday 08:00pm – 17:00pm). Join our dynamic and inclusive community at Renfrewshire Schools, where the Caretaker department makes a significant positive impact across the account. Amey delivers facilities and estate management services to the Renfrew Schools Private Finance Initiative across an estate of nine schools. Every day our people create high‑quality learning environments – ensuring they are safe, clean and compliant for teachers to inspire and where students can gain meaningful skills and qualifications. We work in partnership with our clients and end‑users to ensure our 24/7 services are delivered to the highest standard with minimum impact or disruption to day‑to‑day operational requirements of the schools.
What you will do:
- Ensure smooth running of the school premises
- Carry out day‑to‑day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (i.e., furniture fixtures, wall repairs)
- Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
- Daily responsible to check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
- Check the premises to guard against vandalism
- Arrange chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clear away afterwards
- Litter picking and general clearing of external areas
What you will bring:
- Knowledge and previous experience in practical DIY skills for minor repair
- Good team player
- Flexible with shift work
- Good at developing strong working relationships with on‑site client and employees
- Support local and business zero‑carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner where appropriate
- Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract
