Location: HMP Frankland, Brasside, Durham (DH1 5YD)

Pay: £30,866 – £36,135 + 15% weekend allowance – Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Planned and reactive electrical maintenance
  • Fault‑finding and repairs across prison buildings
  • Minor works and like‑for‑like replacements
  • Electrical inspections and testing in line with BS7671
  • Ensuring systems are safe, compliant and reliable
  • Working to agreed Health & Safety procedures
  • Escorting duties when required

Hours & Pay:

39 hours per week Monday–Friday: 07:30 – 16:30, 1 in 3 weekends (08:00 – 16:00), 15% allowance paid for weekend working

Essential Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition (17th considered with upskilling)
  • Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations
  • Experience of electrical maintenance / PPMs
  • Good Health & Safety awareness
  • Able to work independently and use initiative
  • Basic IT skills

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with fire alarms or CCTV systems
