This is a senior leadership opportunity to set the direction for our bridges and civil structures capability in Scotland; shaping technical excellence, delivery performance and long-term growth across a high-profile portfolio of work. You will lead and inspire, setting professional standards, building a strong talent pipeline, and creating the capacity and succession needed to deliver consistently for clients, today and into the future. Alongside practice leadership, you will develop compelling client propositions and differentiated offerings, championing innovation, and building our external profile through thought leadership. Working closely with peers across the practice and client delivery teams, you will help win, shape and deliver solutions that make a measurable difference.

The role includes:

  • Collaborating across the business to develop innovative industry leading client solutions.
  • Proposition development and innovation, ensuring development of industry leading and value adding solutions for our clients.
  • Liaising with Business Development colleagues to develop pipeline and associated resource requirements.
  • Providing input into Strategy and Business Development function on market trends and developments.
  • Liaising with Business Director and Client Delivery Directors to understand resource requirements and provide expert input into shaping project & resource plans.
  • Liaising with Operations colleagues to clarify forward resource requirements supply and demand.
  • Actively inputting into bidding activity including development of win strategy and delivery of bid content.
  • Identifying and engaging with key stakeholders to ensure robust resource management ensuring the practice is able to respond to resource requirements from projects and bids as required including attracting new talent into the organisation.
  • Accountable for the economical utilisation of practice resources ensuring optimum level of skill and capability available on time to projects and bids.
  • Embedding robust capability management, ensuring optimum level of skill and capability within resource pool.
  • Developing clear plans to address any skill shortages or capability gaps.

  • Ensuring clear governance and reporting in place relating to people resourcing and capability.
  • Setting robust objectives and ensuring regular feedback is provided to manage performance.

  • Leading by example embedding zero code and ensuring a robust safety culture.
  • Driving change programmes as required to ensure optimum efficiency/utilisation.

What You Will Bring To Us:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Professional qualification in relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Credible and authentic leader.
  • Ability to create and lead high performing teams both remotely and in person.

  • Extensive people management experience, credible leader with evidence of developing engaged and motivated teams.

  • Strong technical knowledge in relevant practice area.
  • Strong sector knowledge including relevant market opportunity.
  • Consultancy background.
  • Ability to develop clear client propositions.
  • Evidence of thought leadership/industry influence.
