We are excited to offer a permanent Mobile Gas Engineer / Plumber position in the West Yorkshire region of England. The role involves traveling across the region to service approximately 6 establishments. A van (for business use) and a fuel card are included; therefore, a driving licence is essential. The standard hours are 39 per week from 08:00 to 17:00, with a rota-based 1 in 4 weekends and an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.

What you will do:
- Responsible for a variety of maintenance and reactive tasks (as competent), with attention to compliance.
- Typically based in a local region but may work in other regions or at individual sites as required.
- Be AP in one or more principles across the regions; training will be provided.
- Gas appliance servicing and inspection including combustion analysis and flue gas integrity testing.
- Tightness testing of commercial gas pipework.
- Maintaining gas interlock systems and mechanical ventilation installations where fitted.
- Reactive diagnostics and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on high-capacity boilers, radiant tube heaters, and commercial water heaters.
- Work safely at all times in line with Amey’s Zero Code.
- Carry out PPM activities and reactive repairs.
- New works/installations/upgrades/commissioning.
- Follow Amey/MOJ/HMPPS security protocols including tool management.
- Any other duties commensurate with the role and assist escorting duties as required.
- RP for disciplines within the skillset.
What you will bring:
- Currently registered with Gas Safe with commercial endorsements:
- CODNCO1 – Core Domestic to Non-Domestic Changeover
- CIGA1 – Commercial Indirect Fired Heating Appliances
- ICPN1 – Installation of Commercial Pipework
- TPCP1/TPCP1A – Testing and Purging of Commercial Gas Pipework
Desirable Additional Gas Qualifications:
- CODC1 Domestic NG core to catering core changeover
- COMCAT1 Catering appliances - ranges open and solid top
- COMCAT2 Catering appliances - water boilers, pressure steam
- COMCAT3 Catering appliances - deep fat and pressure fryers
- COMCAT5 Catering appliances - forced draught burners
- CMET1 Low pressure diaphragm and rotary meters
- CMET2 Diaphragm, PD and turbine meters up to 16 bar
- REGT2 Non-domestic medium-pressure regulators and controls
Skills & Experience:
- Basic Health and Safety knowledge.
- Site-specific training as identified by People Manager.
- Basic IT skills.
- Proven track record in commercial gas plant maintenance (high-efficiency condensing boilers, forced draft burners, direct-fired water heaters, Radiant Tube heating).
- Ability to diagnose faults on gas appliances and controls.
- Experience with commercial gas installation pipe sizing and complex tightness testing.
- Experience working with elevated gas pressure supplies and over-pressure protection devices.
- Experience with commercial water systems and water storage systems.
- Understanding of water management and Legionella compliance.
- Understanding of building maintenance and system compliance (training provided).
- Experience in custodial environments (desirable).
- Able to work at heights and independently using initiative.
- Experience of working in a commercial environment.
Prison Security Clearance including Enhanced DBS will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
