We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Waste Supervisor to join our dynamic Trafford Account that will be based from our Amey Depot, 11 Caldey Road, Manchester, M23 9LF. This role will be carried out on and off site. This position offers a competitive salary and overtime. The standard working hours for this role are 40 hours a week.

In this role, you will support the Trafford Waste Account by ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental policies. Your role is pivotal in promoting a safe and sustainable environment for both the team and the public. By effectively managing waste crews and resources, conducting inspections, and addressing incidents, you will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and public safety, liaising with Trafford Council and local Councillors to address waste issues. Your contributions will help foster a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental policies, including keeping employees up to date on health & safety briefings and ensuring all crews understand and implement safety systems of work (SSoW).
  • Oversee and manage waste crews, ensuring they comply with current waste legislation and company policies, and manage resources effectively for efficient waste management operations.
  • Conduct crew health & safety/welfare inspections, incident reviews, and waste inductions, and ensure timely handling of complaints.
  • Maintain accurate records of holidays and absences, ensure return to work records are completed, and handle disciplinary actions as per company policy.
  • Champion new ideas to support service improvements and efficiency, promoting a continuous improvement culture within the service unit.
