We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Bid Manager to join our Transport Infrastructure Work Winning Team in the role of Principal Bid Manager (Strategic Highways). This role will be focused on leading the development of strategic bids to our key clients in the Strategic Highways market, including National Highways, and previous experience of bidding into this market is desirable. You will manage the development of high-quality, competitive tenders, while ensuring key internal governance milestones are met.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing technical and commercial submissions.
- Managing stakeholder communications.
- Ensuring a well organised and robust bid process is followed throughout the tender period.
- Managing the progress of bids, making sure activities align with the bid programme and are clearly communicated to all stakeholders.
- Guiding the production of high-quality technical and commercial bid documentation in accordance with agreed strategies.
- Facilitating the creation of operational solutions and commercial strategies to drive continuous improvement and competitiveness.
- Implementing and managing protocols for communication and document management throughout the bid process.
- Maintaining proactive client communications and responding promptly to clarifications.
- Preparing internal approval papers and managing the bid budget, including risk and opportunity assessments.
- Keeping bid tools and databases updated, contributing to relevant reports as needed.
- Conducting document reviews, consolidating feedback, and implementing improvements.
- Supporting and mentoring other Bid Managers and Leads, including facilitating bid workshops and training for operational and work-winning staff.
