Amey is recruiting for a permanent Carpenter & Joiner position on our Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account at HMYOI Lincoln. The role is on-site and supports His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) to keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.
Key Details
- Hours: 39 hours per week, 7 days (covering 1 in 3 weekends) with a 15% weekend allowance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure health & safety standards are achieved across the contract.
- Carry out joinery work including repairing doors, windows, signposts, formwork and other bespoke timber items.
- Maintain the joinery workshop – machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping and cleanliness.
- Organise and plan daily work with the supervisor, recording and submitting all details on work orders.
- Measure, quote for and order materials, and maintain stock of building maintenance material.
- Support local and business zero‑carbon programmes where appropriate.
- Handle other reasonable requests as directed by the line manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Joinery & Carpentry (or Level 2 may be considered).
- Manual tool handling and ladder use.
- Experience in maintenance preferred.
- Prison Security Clearance required (Amey will support the process).
