Title

Painter/Decorator

Standard hours: 39 hours per week. Staff work on a rota basis between 08:00 - 17:00. Weekend duty 1 in 4 with 15% overtime allowance.

Responsibilities

  • Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
  • Responsibility for care and maintenance of tools, materials and additional company property.
  • Compliance with relevant Health & Safety policies, instructions and directives.
  • Guiding and supporting prisoners in painting and decorating as part of the CRED programme.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
  • Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Sharing best practice with others.
  • NVQ level 3 in Painting and Decorating (NVQ level 2 also considered).
  • Previous relevant work‑related experience.
  • Prison security clearance including standard DBS required (Amey will support the process).
