We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Lead Senior Civil Engineer to join our Consulting Highways Team in Nottingham. The standard hours of work are 40 hours per week, but we offer a range of flexible working practices, including hybrid, part-time and flexible working patterns.

What You Will Be Doing:
Our Lead Senior Civil Engineers play an important part within the Design team and alongside our client, National Highways. As a Lead Senior Civil Engineer, you will provide effective support and assistance to your Design Team Leader on a variety of road schemes whilst taking the lead on projects and mentoring junior designers.
Responsibilities Include:
- To lead a team to produce technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements.
- The preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation as part of the production of scheme deliverables.
- Overseeing the actions of more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks.
- Responsibility for the commercial success of the projects within their portfolio.
- Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level.
- Significantly contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work winning function.
- Drive effective health and safety practices within the team.
We Want To Hear From You If You Have:
- Developed experience and expertise within the relevant technical field.
- Able to produce technically sound engineering solutions.
- Experienced in undertaking project related tasks associated with the management of health, safety and welfare.
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of design and specification process.
- Highly experienced with relevant software and similar analytical tools.
- Very good understanding of CDM and risk assessment.
- Capable of acting as Principal Designer for appropriate projects.
- Supervisory and people manager skills.
- Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence is desirable.
