About the Role
As part of the Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Level 2 apprenticeship programme (≈18 months), you will support the Staffordshire account in the maintenance of county highways infrastructure across 6,000 km of network.
What You Will Do
- Ensure parts are purchased at the best available prices.
- Issue required stock to technicians promptly upon request.
- Ensure the return of parts/items that are not required or incorrectly ordered.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery dates for ordered parts.
- Carry out regular checks on impress stock to ensure levels are maintained.
- Ensure adequate levels of non‑impress stock are always available.
- Maintain stores in a clean and tidy condition.
- Inform technicians of any parts delivered on their behalf.
- Pack and send items via courier to ensure safe delivery.
- Provide a high level of customer service.
- Ensure sufficient PPE levels are available and log all issued PPE.
- Carry out monthly rolling stock checks.
- Create order numbers for parts ordered and input data into the system.
- Provide order numbers to all workshop staff on contract.
- Book in and out all technical parts and operator manuals using the Document Control Log.
- Collect parts locally when required.
