Location & Hours: Smithycoft Secondary School, 282 Smithycroft Rd, Glasgow G33 2QU. Standard hours: 37.5 per week. Shift patterns: 07:00–15:00 and 13:00–21:00, Monday–Friday.

About the Role: We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our Glasgow school’s account and deliver critical services for schools. Every day our people create high‑quality learning environments – ensuring they are safe, clean and compliant for teachers to inspire and for students to gain meaningful skills and qualifications. We work in partnership with our clients and end‑users to ensure our 24/7 services are delivered to the highest standard with minimum impact on day‑to‑day operational requirements of the schools.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure smooth running of the school premises
  • Carry out day‑to‑day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., furniture fixtures, wall repairs)
  • Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
  • Check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
  • Guard against vandalism by checking the premises
  • Arrange chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clear away afterwards
  • Litter picking and general clearing of external areas

What You Will Bring:

  • Knowledge and previous experience in practical DIY skills for minor repair
  • Good team player
  • Flexible with shift work
  • Strong working relationships with on‑site client and employees
  • Support local and business zero‑carbon programmes as appropriate
  • Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract
  • Full driving licence (required for covering multiple sites)
