We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent General Building Operative in HMP Long Lartin, South Littleton, Evesham, Worcestershire WR11 8TZ. The standard hours of work are 39 per week, with shifts: Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 17:00; Friday to Sunday 08:00 - 16:00. There may be a need to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis (with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary), as well as being part of a call out rota.

At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing safe, clean and efficient prisons. Our facilities management expertise helps keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.
What you will do:
- Work in a team to provide general maintenance tasks and support tradespeople on site.
- Provide a professional assistance service to those requesting support including contractor escorting duties when required.
- Complete tasks associated with DIY such as decorating, hanging notice boards, building furniture, and repair of items around the prison.
- Check appliances, fittings and the general environment are in good working order and report any defects to the Team Leader.
- General housekeeping, including litter picking and landscaping around the grounds if required.
- All other FM duties as required directed by the team manager.
What you will bring:
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Time management skills.
- CITB relevant certification or equivalent, or an NVQ trade qualification, would be preferred.
- Solid experience in DIY/general building maintenance.
