This role operates the HGV to ensure waste collection, maintaining cleanliness and order within the community. You will work with team members, stakeholders and supervisors to ensure vehicles meet high standards, prioritise health and safety, and assist loaders as required.
Responsibilities
- Operate an HGV and collect refuse/recycling from requested locations following a route set by the business, and dispose of refuse/recycling at appropriate waste collection sites.
- Carry out vehicle inspections ensuring compliance with company policy and legislative requirements, and complete appropriate paperwork.
- Work as a member of the team, receive instructions from supervisors, communicate them with other crew members and comply with health and safety at work requirements.
- Maintain the best operational relationship between the public, other customers and client representatives by dealing courteously with complaints and queries.
- Carry out and assist with loading responsibilities as required.
