We have a fantastic opportunity for a Street Lighting Electrical Operative to join our Highways Electrical team based at Tingley Outstation, Wakefield.
Working as part of our Street Lighting team, you will help maintain and improve essential highway electrical infrastructure across the network.
From installing new LED street lighting to fault-finding and repairing electrical assets, you'll play a vital role in keeping roads safe for the travelling public.
This is a hands-on, field-based position offering excellent development opportunities for experienced highway electrical operatives looking to progress their career within a leading infrastructure services provider.
The standard hours of work are Monday to Friday on a rotating day and night shift pattern (8-hour days and 10-hour nights).
The salary is competitive (please enquire for further details) and includes shift allowance and overtime opportunities.
What You Will Be Doing Installing and commissioning street lighting columns, lanterns, illuminated signs, bollards and associated equipment.
Undertaking planned maintenance, inspections and reactive fault repairs across highway electrical assets.
Supporting testing and commissioning activities in accordance with current regulations and industry standards.
Diagnosing faults and replacing defective electrical components.
Operating MEWPs and specialist equipment safely and effectively.
Working in accordance with site-specific RAMS, permits and safety procedures.
Maintaining accurate records through mobile work management systems.
Liaising with supervisors, planners, local authority representatives and other stakeholders to deliver works safely and efficiently.
Ensuring vehicles, equipment and work sites are maintained to a high standard.
We Want to Hear From You If You Have Essential Current HEA Authorisation / HERS Registration.
ECS Card for Highway Electrical Operatives.
IPAF 1B qualification.
HEA 202, HEA 204, HEA 210 and HEA 214 certifications.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
Experience working within highways electrical or street lighting environments.
Desirable BS 7671 18th Edition qualification.
HEA 403 IET Wiring Regulations.
NRSWA accreditation.
Traffic Management qualifications (LANTRA/TTMBC or equivalent).
C1, C or CE Driving Licence.
