Standard hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Supervise cleaners within the team and carry out basic people management activities.
- Lead by example, demonstrate best practice at all times, and ensure duties are completed to a high standard within the allotted time.
- Work according to legislative regulations, ensuring correct use of colour‑coded equipment.
- Comply with Internal and External HSEA requirements, RAMs and COSHH.
- Carry out bi‑weekly cleaning audits for internal improvements and deliver remedial actions following independent audits.
- Control stock levels and order consumables to maintain service delivery through the correct channels.
- Operate machinery safely, following guidelines and training provided.
- Carry out any reasonable requests directed by the line manager.
- Support local and business zero‑carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner where appropriate.
- Ensure H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
Qualifications
- Experience as supervisor or team leader in cleaning.
- Self‑directed and capable of using own initiative, demonstrating reliability and responsibility.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification.
- Comfortable working in a prison environment.
- Environmental awareness.
