We have a fantastic opportunity for a Caretaker to join our team in Co‑op Academy Grange, Haycliffe Lane, Bradford BD5 9ET. This role will be site based and is a 6‑month fixed‑term contract. Salary: £13.72 per hour. Standard hours: 37.5 hours per week; shift patterns: 6:00 am–2:00 pm, 8:00 am–4:00 pm, or 2:00 pm–10:00 pm.

Amey delivers facilities and estate management services to the Bradford Schools Private Finance Initiative across an estate of 10 schools (7 secondary, 3 Special Educational Needs). Every day our people help create high‑quality learning environments that are safe, clean, and compliant for teachers to inspire and for students to gain meaningful skills and qualifications.

What you will do:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the school premises.
  • Carry out day‑to‑day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., furniture fixtures, wall repairs).
  • Ensure heating, lighting, and alarm systems are working properly.
  • Check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use.
  • Guard against vandalism.
  • Arrange chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clear them away afterwards.
  • Pick litter and clear external areas.

What you will bring:

  • Knowledge and experience in practical DIY skills for minor repair.
  • Good team player with flexibility for shift work.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with on‑site client and employees.
  • Support for local and business zero‑carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner where appropriate.
