Role Overview: Support the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account by delivering safe, clean, and efficient maintenance for prisons across England and Wales. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance on secure premises. Prison security clearance required.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure health & safety standards are met across the contract.
  • Perform statutory works on time, ensuring compliance.
  • Conduct routine and non‑routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs.
  • Inspect, sample water, and assess risks to maintain system integrity.
  • Repair mains water supply and address life‑expired equipment.
  • Monitor the BMS system to ensure optimal performance.
  • Support zero‑carbon initiatives and sustainability goals.
  • Handle additional tasks as directed by line manager, including working at height and in various weather conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 trade qualification in plumbing or equivalent.
  • Experience operating light plant.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating preferred, NVQ Level 2 acceptable.
  • Desirable: Legionella Control (L8) and commercial environment experience.
  • Prison security clearance (Amey will support the process).
