Permanent CAD Technician – Structures, with Amey Consulting Structures team, based across multiple locations in Scotland. The role involves producing accurate, high‑quality models, drawings and schedules for bridges and civil engineering structures and taking schemes from inception through design to construction and maintenance. Working hours are 40 per week, with flexible, hybrid and part‑time options available to support work‑life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Producing accurate, high‑quality models, drawings and schedules for bridges and civil structures.
  • Supporting the team to develop practical, sustainable design solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with BIM standards.
  • Contributing to the improvement of company CAD and BIM procedures.
  • Performing the role of CAD Manager when required.
  • Mentoring and developing junior members of the team.

Qualifications

  • HNC / HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience as a CAD technician on structures projects.
  • Strong team‑working skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Client‑focused approach to service delivery.

Desirable

  • Experience in the road and/or water sectors.
  • 3D modelling experience with Revit, Infraworks or Civils 3D.
  • Knowledge of document management systems such as Projectwise.
