We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent on‑site Electrician to join our team on our Nuclear Restoration services account in Somerset, Hinkley Point A Site, Bridgwater, TA5 1YA.
Our Nuclear Restoration Services account at Hinkley Point A in Somerset supports the safe, secure and efficient operation of a complex nuclear environment through high‑quality facilities and engineering services.
As an Electrician, you will play a key role in delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance, helping to keep site operations compliant, reliable and running smoothly within a highly regulated setting.
Standard hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (shift pattern 7.30am‑5pm Monday to Thursday only).
What You Will Do:
- Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met across the contract
- Testing and inspecting electrical installations in line with current IEE wiring regulations
- Responding promptly to breakdowns, ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently
- Performing planned and preventative electrical maintenance and diagnosing/replacing failed domestic electrical components
- Actively fault finding and problem solving on domestic electrical systems
- Undertaking electrical installation activities according to provided designs and IET Wiring Regulations
- Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services, and oversee the BMS System
- Supporting zero carbon initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals, and handling additional tasks as directed by your line manager
What You Will Bring:
- Appropriate technical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2365 parts 1‑3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above)
- BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition
- Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations
- Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution, installation, and testing
- Ability to work alone and use initiative
- Capable of working at heights
BPSS Check: This role is subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. BPSS is a pre‑employment screening process and includes verification of your identity, right to work in the UK, employment history and references, and a basic criminal record check. Appointment will be conditional upon successfully meeting the BPSS requirements.
