We are looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team based in Birmingham – International Design Hub, 20 Colmore Circus Queensway, Birmingham B4 6AT. This role will be hybrid working in the office one day a week. Standard hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday. Salary is dependent on experience. The role requires occasional travel to Treforest in South Wales. You will provide excellent support to internal customers across our rail business sector at Amey, working closely with Project and Commercial functions as well as the wider finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role primarily supports the Core Valley Lines contract (£100m p.a.) and also supports the wider Rail business areas.
What you will do:
- Calculating and posting accrual and prepayment journals.
- Provide supporting information for costs in SAP and management information.
- Retrieving invoices and purchase orders from SAP to support client audits.
- Posting journals to allocate costs to correct coding structure.
- Providing support to Management Accountants at month end.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing these with the Management Accountant and resolving actions raised during the reviews.
- Preparing management information for use in monthly business meetings.
- Managing the timesheet process.
