We are excited to offer a Permanent Assistant Surveyor position to join our dynamic CEFA team in the Northeast England. This is a hybrid role, 37.5 hours per week. In this role you will assist the operational property inspection team in delivering condition surveys and other professional property inspection services. Once trained, you will work independently, completing surveys to Network Rail standards, identifying defects and remedial works for Network Rail to complete as part of their planned maintenance.
What You’ll Do (After a period of on‑the‑job and external training):
- Undertaking measured condition surveys of buildings and structures in Network Rail’s property portfolio of stations, depots and signal boxes.
- Survey data input using bespoke surveying software currently being redeveloped to enhance capabilities and user experience.

What You’ll Bring:
- Degree level qualification in Building Surveying (or similar) or significant repairs and maintenance inspection experience.
- Professional membership (RICS, CIOB) and knowledge of the railway industry – preferred.
