We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Civil Engineer to join our dynamic CEFA team at Motherwell. Hybrid working 37.5 hrs per week.
In this role, after a period of on-the-job training and mentorship, you will support the Regional Structures Engineer by evaluating structure examination reports for onward submission to Network Rail and undertake site examinations of tunnel assets. This role offers you the opportunity to join our examination team who undertake examinations of structures from the smallest of culverts to the iconic Forth and Tay Bridges. A varied working week of site-based activities and flexible office/home based working will keep you engaged. Your valued input will ensure the continued safe running of Scotland’s Railway. Training and mentoring will be provided and tailored, based on your level of experience.
What You’ll Do:
- Undertake the process of engineering (STE2) review and submission of examination reports, including risk scoring and recommendations, in accordance with contract specification and timescales.
- Undertake the examination of Network Rail’s tunnel assets, complete condition reports and submit with recommendation for remedial works.
- Carry out Technical Monitoring of structures, using total station surveying equipment as required.
- Ensure that safety is always the priority. Promote safe working practices, ensuring full implementation and compliance with Key Processes.
- Maintain regular liaison with all key stakeholders on project progress, conducting regular reviews with Network Rail and your team.
