We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Manager to join our Area 12 account. This role is Hybrid with some night audits, office days are based at West Cowick Maintenance Compound (DN149ED). At Amey, we work in partnership with National Highways to keep the country moving safely. We're now looking for a Quality Manager who will be responsible for managing and sustaining the Quality Plan through processes, procedures, resources, activities, controls, and auditing arrangements to ensure continuous improvement and ongoing fulfilment of contract requirements.

You will work closely with the Quality and Principal Business Improvement Manager and take on the client-facing role to ensure all staff are aware of, understand, and are committed to the policy and objectives of the contract and Amey's commitment to sustainability and social value. The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday with some nights for auditing purposes.

  • Operational Leadership - Leading and motivating electrical teams to deliver planned and reactive works safely and to the highest standards.
  • Safety & Compliance - Ensuring full compliance with health & safety legislation, electrical standards and Amey procedures.
  • Performance Management - Monitoring delivery, quality and productivity, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and value.
  • Contract Delivery - Supporting compliance with National Highways contractual requirements and KPIs.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration - Working in partnership with National Highways, subcontractors and internal teams to deliver shared goals.
  • Risk Management - Proactively identifying and mitigating risks across electrical operations.
  • Continuous Improvement - Championing best practice, innovation and learning across the team.
  • Sustainability & Environment - Supporting Amey's environmental commitments through responsible and sustainable working practices.

What You'll Bring:

  • Manage the Quality Plan and ensure it serves as a framework for all aspects of service delivery.
  • Ensure full compliance with quality, environmental, and safety controls, plans, processes, procedures, and work activities as outlined in the Quality Plan.
  • Verify accountability and compliance with contract requirements through rigorous application of the Quality Plan, overseen by the Senior Management Team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and commitment to high-quality, safe, and environmentally sound service delivery.
  • Maintain and ensure updates of the Service Delivery Platform (CMS) Procedure and Contract Specific Procedures as necessary.
  • Review and update the National Highways Sector Scheme Plan and records of experience at defined intervals.
  • Ensure all personnel are suitably trained and competent to carry out required tasks.
  • Develop and test a business continuity plan in compliance with ISO standards and best industry practices.
  • Employee management.
  • Proven experience in quality management.
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Lead Auditor.
  • Willingness to travel across the Area 12 network as required.
