We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Driver/Loader to join our dynamic Surrey County Council team at our Esher Depot (KT10 8AS). This role will be carried out onsite and around Surrey. This position offers a competitive salary and overtime.

In this role, you will support Surrey County Council by operating the HGV to ensure the collection of waste, thereby maintaining cleanliness and order within the community. You will collaborate with team members, external stakeholders, and supervisors to ensure that vehicles meet high standards, prioritise health and safety, and assist loaders as required. This role offers a unique chance to keep Surrey's streets clean, assist residents, and make a tangible community impact.

What You'll Do:

  • You will operate an HGV and ensure the collection of refuse/recycling from requested locations, following a route that has been set out by the business and dispose of refuse/recycling at the appropriate waste collection sites.
  • Carry out vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with both company vehicle policy and legislative requirements and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Work as a member of the team and receive any instructions from supervisors and communicate them with other crew members and be compliant with health and safety at work requirements.
  • Maintain the best operational relationship between the public, other customers and client representatives by dealing courteously with complaints and queries.
  • Carry out and assist with loading responsibilities as required.
