We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Assistant Project Manager - Signalling to join our dynamic Eastern and Southern team at Bedford. 37.5 hrs per week, hybrid working with a requirement of 3 days in the office.

In this role you will support the successful delivery of a range of multidisciplinary and single-discipline projects, working closely with experienced project professionals to gain hands-on exposure across delivery, commercial, and bid activity. This role offers you the unique opportunity to work with one of Network Rail's main contractors on Signalling, telecoms and OLE frameworks across the Eastern region.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare information for both internal PRM and external to client, including KPIs in line with period reporting.
  • Act as comms liaison under direction of the PM.
  • Outline cost estimating, management and monitoring of project budget.
  • Project planning, programming, cost control and administration.
  • Maintain high technical standards, consistent with the project brief and compliance with Amey HSEA requirements.
  • Support the preparation of bids and delivery of services on other contracts.
  • Maximise operating efficiency, so that projects portfolio is delivered in compliance with the project control system to agreed standard and targets.
  • Implement quality improvements when opportunities arise.
  • Support PM and construction team on key weekends and commissioning.

What You'll Bring:

  • Project management and business coordination experience - within a construction environment - preferably rail.
  • Must be able to satisfy current entry requirements for a professional qualification i.e. APM.
  • Have a high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, and in particular MS Excel.
