We have a new opportunity for a General Labourer to join our NMC SW Account working in our Woodside Viaduct project in Glasgow. This role will be offered a Fixed Term Contract, the contract will be a minimum basis for 6 months, which may be extended due to business requirements.
As part of our NMC SW account, Amey has been working in partnership with Transport Scotland South West since August 2020, delivering inspections, cyclical and winter maintenance, asset management, scheme delivery, and incident response across the South West Trunk Road network. The Woodside Viaduct Project is a significant civil engineering project delivered under the Network Maintenance Contract.
As a General Labourer you will support day-to-day operations on a busy construction site. The role involves maintaining site cleanliness and ensuring work areas are safe and organised. The standard hours of work for these roles will be 42 hours per week, working Monday to Friday dayshift 07:30am to 4.30pm.
Key responsibilities include:
- Loading and unloading materials and deliveries
- Keeping the site clean and tidy (waste removal, sweeping, etc.)
- Seasonal maintenance
- Preparing and setting up work areas
- Moving materials and equipment around the site
- Following instructions from the Site Manager or Supervisor
- Always adhering to all health & safety regulations
- Operating basic tools and equipment where required
- Supporting general site duties as needed
What You'll Bring:
- Valid CSCS Card
- Previous labouring experience
- Good level of physical fitness
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of health & safety on site
It would be preferred if you have a Driving Licence and Traffic marshalling, banksman or other relevant tickets for this position.
