Role Overview
The Project Manager will play a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of the CWT Transition and Unification program within Amex GBT. Position suits an individual with robust project management and leadership abilities, adept at executing migration plans to achieve measurable outcomes. Familiarity with Smartsheet is beneficial. This role is fundamental to ensuring the smooth transition of systems and process, with a focus on proactively identifying, escalating and addressing risks, issues and dependencies throughout the migration journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Management
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with all stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of project objectives and progress.
- Engage stakeholders proactively to identify concerns, manage expectations, and build consensus throughout the transition and unification programme.
- Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional teams, fostering positive relationships to support programme success.
- Escalate critical issues and dependencies to appropriate stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution and alignment.
- Project Planning
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, outlining key milestones, deliverables, and timelines for migration activities.
- Track progress against project schedules, adjusting plans as needed to accommodate changes and mitigate risks.
- Coordinate resource allocation and ensure readiness of tools and systems for transition phases.
- Monitor project risks and issues, implementing contingency plans to ensure smooth execution.
- Business Change & Requirements Management
- Work closely with business units to gather and analyse requirements for system and process migration.
- Document and validate business requirements, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and programme goals.
- Support change management initiatives, including training, communications, and stakeholder engagement during transition.
- Monitor adoption of new processes and systems, providing feedback and support to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Degree in a business, management, technology.
- Professional certification such as PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent project management qualification.
- Demonstrable experience in project coordination, PMO.
- Strong proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and organisational skills.
- Proven ability to manage resources, schedules, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
- Experience with change management, including training and supporting adoption of new processes.
- Understanding of PMO frameworks, governance, and reporting standards.
Skills & Experience Required
- 1–3 years in project management.
- Technical Skills
- Understanding of O365.
- Use of Smartsheet.
- Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, capable of driving conversations across diverse business groups.
