This position at Amex GBT represents an exciting opportunity to work in the dynamic world of airline distribution, managing a portfolio of airlines within the EMEA and APAC regions. This is a strategic role, where the successful applicant will be responsible for managing the distribution relationships with key external partners to secure best-in-class content for Amex GBT’s customers and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure this content is optimized at point of sale. The role sits on the supplier side of the organization, within the Global Business Partnerships (GBP) team. Supply is a strategic component of the business model and value proposition for Amex GBT, contributing significantly to revenue generation and customer value.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with Distribution Team’s leadership to drive the air distribution strategy in EMEA and APAC countries.
- Partnering with Airlines to ensure strong collaboration on distribution matters, alignment on goals and enhancing the overall offering to joint customers.
- Work through content related issues and apply solutions to overcome challenges.
- Working closely with Product & Technology, Marketplace and Commercial teams to ensure alignment and progress on key goals.
- Developing and implementing new strategies to evolve and expand the content offered to customers utilizing new capabilities and technology.
- Develop commercial models to meet the evolving needs of the marketplace.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience in the Airline and/or travel distribution space. Ideally with good knowledge of NDC.
- Strong product and technology knowledge base to influence and lead product-related discussions.
- Strong relationship building skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and external partners.
- Ability to navigate a complex organization and find the right internal partner for each project.
- Strategic thinking skillset and ability to translate complex technical and business issues into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
- Experience of ‘future proofing’ within organizations.
- Strong negotiation skills to ensure optimum value for the organization.
- Strong analytical skills. Assess and understand financial impact of negotiations.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, attention to detail and ability to deliver within deadlines.
- Cultural awareness. Thrive in diverse, multi-time zone environments with cultural adaptability.
- Long and successful previous experience on the management of business travel suppliers (such as airlines) is key.
