Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operational: To lead and organise the Assembly Team to deliver business targets whilst driving best in class performance. Develop a strategy to support ongoing business growth. MLI & Spares OTD >95%. Increase efficiency by 5% per annum. Increase skills improving cross training.
  • Operational Excellence: To drive continuous improvement activities within the department. Continue to develop a culture within the Assembly Cells of continuous improvement. Deliver >Β£50K per annum of direct cost savings. Implement systematic quality first mentality and culture. Maintain and build upon a fit for purpose Assembly area and champion best practice. Implement process standardisation throughout Assembly cells.
  • Quality: Improve quality in all areas of assembly through driving a quality culture. Ensure corrective reports are raised for all assembly issues. Review assembly causes for warranty and implement corrective actions. Champion quality-based Kaizen events within teams.
  • New Product Introductions: Fully support NPI programmes and develop skills required to meet future business needs. Drive the productionisation of new products to ensure ownership and capability after new product sign off. Ensure all products meet Manufacturing Engineering targets for fit for production.
  • Team Development: Drive team culture to set the standard of operational excellence and capability within the business. Increase skill matrix average flexibility scores by >15% pa. Introduce development plans for increasing flexibility and career progression. Provide skills to support NPI and service training plans.

Essential and Desirable Skills:

  • Required Essential Skills: Experience in a Production Management Engineering/Technical background – Understand technical drawings, materials and manufacturing processes. Have strong communication, interpersonal & influencing skills. Positive attitude and enthusiastic. Be analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving abilities. Excellent problem-solving techniques. Proven Cell development success. Organised – able to document, handle, prioritise and deal with a high volume of projects and tasks. Strong IT Skills. Proven track record of developing talent.
  • Desirable Skills: IT – MS Navision MRP System. Project Management skills. Advanced MS Excel skills. Smartsheet Use and integration.
