The HR Manager (Generalist) provides end‑to‑end HR leadership across assigned sites, combining strategic partnering with hands‑on delivery. Acts as the primary HR contact for leaders and employees, ensuring compliant, consistent and high‑quality HR operations. Reporting to the HR Director, the role provides development via broad exposure to organisational planning, employee relations, talent, performance and culture initiatives. The role also supports workforce planning, change initiatives and broader cultural development, ensuring alignment with corporate HR programs and organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Partner with leaders to support all employee lifecycle processes and ensure consistent application of HR policies and legislation.
- Right hand support of the Director, Human Resources for the P&AI International Region.
- Regular site visits to MOCON Alphasense in Braintree, UK and visits to other Europe sites through direction of the Director, Human Resources.
- Act as first‑line support for ER, advising on conduct, capability, absence, investigations and resolution.
- Lead talent acquisition activities including requisitions, sourcing, interviews and onboarding.
- Coordinate performance management, merit cycles, job evaluations and benchmarking.
- Support annual workforce planning, including organisational design discussions, staffing needs analysis and succession planning inputs.
- Drive engagement initiatives; support communication plans and coach managers.
- Support change management initiatives, including communication, consultation and adoption activities during organisational changes.
- Maintain accurate HR data and produce dashboards and insights.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities in HR processes.
- Provide coaching and development support for employees and managers.
- Collaborate on L&D, reward, systems and compliance.
- Contribute to the development, review and governance of HR policies and procedures, supporting standardisation and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with employment law, data protection and governance.
- Promote inclusion by ensuring fair processes, supporting aligned Corporate initiatives and using data insights to identify opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to corporate job architecture and compensation governance frameworks when coordinating job evaluations and benchmarking.
- Liaise with Health & Safety and Occupational Health on return‑to‑work processes, wellbeing risks and site‑specific people‑related H&S matters.
- Regular travel will be required throughout Europe, with possible travel outside of Europe.
Experience & Professional Qualifications
- CIPD qualified or progressing (Level 5 or Level 7 desirable).
- Experience as an HR Generalist with multi‑site exposure.
- Strong ER capability, coaching skills, HR operations and data analytics.
- Experience with HR systems (SuccessFactors) and strong MS Office skills.
- Experience supporting organisational or cultural change, and contributing to workforce planning activities, is advantageous.
