Job Purpose
To disassemble, test, fault‑find, and repair aircraft safety equipment, including evacuation slides, life rafts, and associated sub‑components. The role also involves the reassembly and packing of safety equipment in strict accordance with CMMs, OHMs, and OEM packing instructions, ensuring full regulatory and safety compliance.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Disassemble aircraft safety equipment, including slides, rafts, and related sub‑components, in accordance with approved documentation.
- Test, fault‑find, and repair safety equipment to approved standards and procedures.
- Inspect components to identify defects or damage and take appropriate corrective action.
- Reassemble and pack safety equipment assemblies in line with CMMs, OHMs, and OEM packing instructions.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately, safely, and in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality, and workmanship within the workshop.
- Support team objectives by working flexibly to meet operational and customer demands.
Qualifications
- Numerate and literate, with a minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- OEM training in the maintenance and overhaul of aircraft safety equipment (highly desirable).
Experience
- Experience in repairing and packing aircraft safety equipment (highly desirable).
- Previous experience working in an engineering or workshop environment (highly desirable).
- Proven experience interpreting and strictly adhering to compliance manuals and technical documentation.
