Job Purpose
To repair, test, and overhaul valve and cylinder assemblies, including conducting hydrostatic testing of cylinders and charging complete assemblies to pressures of up to 4500 PSI. The role supports safety‑critical equipment and requires strict adherence to compliance, quality, and health and safety regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Repair, test, and overhaul valve and cylinder assemblies in accordance with approved procedures.
- Strip down valve assemblies and assess condition of all components.
- Inspect individual parts, identify defects, and replace unserviceable items using approved standard spares.
- Thoroughly clean components prior to reassembly.
- Rebuild valve assemblies ready for functional testing using various flow rigs.
- Carry out hydrostatic testing of cylinders in accordance with Department of Transport requirements.
- Reassemble valve and cylinder components to approved specifications.
- Charge complete assemblies to pressures of up to 4500 PSI, ensuring compliance and safety at all stages.
- Provide ad hoc support to the Safety Inflatable Team as required to meet operational demands.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience interpreting and strictly following compliance manuals and technical documentation (essential).
- Experience in a regulated engineering, workshop, or aerospace environment is desirable.
Qualifications
- Numerate and literate, with a minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
