The Material Controller operations will form an integral part of the Operations team to achieve the Operational Objectives of the business, reporting into the Logistics Manager. They will have strong time management and workload prioritisation skills, coupled with experience in Stores, Goods‑In and Dispatch areas. They will understand and maintain the expectations and requirements of working to aerospace standards, especially regarding traceability and materials handling. The candidate will be expected to have a hands‑on approach when required in all areas of their responsibility. Experience of using an MRP system is desirable.
Main duties / responsibilities:
- Receiving components and materials from customers and suppliers
- Kitting and issuing components and materials to the shop floor as specified by the Works Order in a timely manner to meet repair turnaround schedules
- Goods inwards documentation checking, goods checking & acceptance of deliveries to stock
- Control and maintain traceability of all materials within operations
- Ensure all internal & external paperwork practices comply to the current quality business standard within BMS (Business Management System)

- Kit shortage reduction

- Sub‑Contract processing

- Inventory reduction when applicable
Other responsibilities / non‑essential functions:
- Undertake training that is identified as a requirement of the role as identified by the role Manager
- Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the role manager/acting manager or Directors
- At times of reduced department staff attendance there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction
- On occasion, you may be required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to training, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments
