Multiple Full-time Maximum Term positions available at our Guildford & Parramatta locations. Annual salary is $79,627 + 12% super.

About the position

The purpose of the Senior Employment Mentor is to:

  • Engage, assess and assist clients in gaining sustainable ongoing employment within an appropriate timeframe, by referring clients to suitable activities and vacancies;
  • Monitor and review AMES Australia clients’ compliance requirements;
  • Assist the Service Delivery Manager (SDM) and Senior Manager (SM) to ensure the successful delivery of employment services by monitoring and overseeing the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of employment services, employees and resources at the Site as required.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a similar position
  • Ability to effectively coordinate day-to-day activities at a service delivery site
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to seeking solutions
  • Strong time management, organisational and well-developed computer skills (including intermediate Microsoft Office skills)
  • Knowledge of the labour market & programs
  • Proven ability to motivate clients, and advocate on their behalf
  • Ability to build rapport & conduct objective assessment of the clients’ skills & abilities
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritise tasks
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal, written and numerical)
  • Proficiency in compliance and adherence to policy, procedures and guidelines

As travel between Sites may be necessary, a current valid Driver’s Licence is desirable for this role.

Where an incumbent, at any time during their employment at AMES Australia, is engaged in child-related services as defined by the Working with Children Act 2005 (as amended from time to time), it is a mandatory requirement for the incumbent to have and maintain a current Working With Children Check (for employment purposes) before commencing in child-related work for the duration of the engagement.
