Reports To: Director
Summary of Position: The Junior Project Manager is responsible for the management of assigned customers and projects as well as providing administrative support to our Project Managers and General Managers to ensure timely and complete execution of customer projects. This position will manage existing customer relationships; manage projects; and recruit, train, schedule and manage crews. The Junior Project Manager candidate should be highly organized, capable of multi-tasking, able to meet deadlines under pressure, and possess a strong work ethic.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to excel at each duty outlined above and have the following knowledge, skills, ability and background.
- Project Support
- Enter new jobs in Project Management System
- Communicate schedules and requirements to field technicians
- Receive, track, and save project paperwork
- Coordinate Subcontractors – Request paperwork, ensure all subcontractor requirements are met and filed into the appropriate company file
- Generate project reporting/dashboards
- Participate in project conference calls
- Answer project questions from technicians and customers
- Other duties as assigned
- Management of at least $60,000 of self-performed projects at all times
- Effective communication with customer and crews to ensure complete understanding of project scope
- Ensure smooth roll-out for customer installs
- Coordinating sub-contractors as needed
- Facilitate purchasing of needed materials
- Understanding of jobsite protocols specific to project and site
- Ensuring quality of workmanship from crew
- May perform surveys and estimate jobs with direct involvement and oversight of GM/PM
- Ability to recognize problems outside of scope and effectively address with customer
- Performing duties with minimal supervision
- Meetings with customers and store personnel to review projects
- Reporting crew performance issues to General Manager
- Ability to schedule crews to meet customer timelines
- Maintain accurate records, purchase logs, expense reimbursement forms, and other documentation
- Update company software systems
- Interviewing, Selection, Hiring and Training of Technicians
- Sourcing and evaluating subcontractors; facilitating subcontractor paperwork
- Build & maintain ongoing rapport with key individuals at customer locations
- Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth
- Attend regularly scheduled conference calls, company meetings, and trade shows
- Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with Office suite
- Knowledge of Google docs
- Self-starter
- Smart, analytical, creative and is able to deliver results quickly
- Strong written, oral, and visual communication skills
- Extremely organized with strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team; work well under deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to use hand tools
- Demonstrated ability to complete projects on time and under budget
- Computer skills
- General knowledge of all trades
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license
- Must travel 75-100% of time
