Our Directors are responsible for the development, operations, management, and profitability of a department within our company. The Director is responsible for all site activities of our facility improvements, renovations/remodels, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Kitchen Equipment Installations which may include numerous trades scopes. The Director is responsible for the management of personnel to execute timely and maintain the highest level of safety, quality, and cost control. The Director must also maintain our current customer base and build new customer relationships.
Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Manage the P&L of the department including setting budgets, cost controls, and managing expenses
- Prospect, propose and close new business relationships
- Build & maintain ongoing rapport with key individuals at customer locations
- Provide written proposals
- Perform professional presentations or demonstrations of company services while on-site
- Effective communication with customer, project managers, and crews to ensure complete understanding of project scope
- Ensure smooth roll-out for customer installs
- Coordinating subcontractors as needed
- Facilitate purchasing of needed materials
- Meet with customers and site personnel to review projects
- Overcome objections of prospective customers
- Understanding of jobsite protocols specific to project and site
- Ability to recognize problems outside of scope and effectively address with customer
- Maintaining composure when faced with adverse situations and rapidly changing environments
- Ensuring quality of workmanship from crew
- Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring crews and support personnel
- Mentoring and training personnel
- Use of basic tools and the ability to install or assemble by following instructions
- Heavy lifting, standing, bending, and reaching
- Working a flexible schedule of days, nights, or weekends and being available for emergencies
- Ability to manage time and prioritise
- Ability to schedule crews to meet customer timelines

- Must be prepared to field questions and proactively develop plans of action in regard to resolving issues
- Quality Control – Jobsite inspections
- Maintain accurate records, project management reports, expense reimbursement forms, and other documentation
- Update company software systems
- Attend regularly scheduled conference calls, company meetings, and trade shows
- Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner
- Performing duties with minimal supervision
- Lead all HVAC/R operational activities for retail and restaurant construction projects, including planning, scheduling, installation, commissioning, and service coordination
- Oversee mechanical scopes for remodels, rollouts, and national retail/restaurant facility improvement programs
- Ensure HVAC/R systems—including RTUs, refrigeration systems, walk-ins, ice machines, economizers, condensers, exhaust systems, and make-up air equipment—are installed to manufacturer standards and project specifications
- Provide technical oversight, troubleshooting guidance, and escalation support to HVAC/R field technicians and subcontractors
- Establish mechanical installation standards, SOPs, QA/QC checklists, and maintenance expectations for all field teams
- Collaborate with estimating teams to develop accurate HVAC/R quotes, manpower projections, equipment lists, and timelines
- Build strong relationships with retail and restaurant facility managers, construction managers, and national brand stakeholders
- Ensure all HVAC/R projects meet compliance requirements (EPA guidelines, local codes, mechanical permits, etc.)
- Support recruiting efforts for HVAC/R managers, installers, refrigeration technicians, and mechanical subcontractors
- Manage warranty issues, equipment failures, and customer escalations with professionalism and urgency
- Track HVAC/R performance indicators such as labor efficiency, callback reduction, and equipment installation accuracy
- Develop long-term mechanical workforce strategy to support regional and national expansion

- Extensive experience in HVAC/R mechanical operations, preferably in retail or restaurant construction
- Strong understanding of refrigeration systems, walk-ins, RTUs, split systems, and commercial kitchen mechanical equipment
- Ability to read, interpret, and execute mechanical plans, refrigerant line layouts, and installation schematics
- Familiarity with EPA regulations, mechanical codes, and safety standards related to HVAC/R work
- Experience leading HVAC/R field teams, technicians, and subcontractors in high-volume, multi-site environments
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to guide teams through complex mechanical challenges
- Proven ability to develop repeatable processes, installation standards, and operational best practices for mechanical divisions
