Overview
Columbia Threadneedle Investments seeks an experienced fund accounting professional to oversee statutory accounts for UK, Jersey, and Luxembourg real estate entities, coordinating audits and preparing board packs. You will train junior team members, drive efficiencies, and support senior management on process improvements and technical accounting matters. This role combines cross-border reporting under UK GAAP and IFRS with a focus on risk control and quality outputs in a client-centric, collaborative culture.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and produce annual financial statements for UK, Jersey, and Luxembourg real estate entities under UK GAAP and IFRS
- Liaise with auditors to agree timelines and address audit queries
- Prepare board papers highlighting key points for Board approvals and filings
- Manage financial reporting for Property Management Companies where Columbia Threadneedle is responsible
- Review processes to drive efficiencies and automation
- Provide training to junior fund accounting staff on financial statement preparation
- Coordinate ISAE 3402 audit with internal audit team
- Support senior management on process enhancements and risk mitigation
- Lead on technical accounting matters and prepare accounting papers as needed
Key requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or similar)
- Excellent understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS
- Strong analytical and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills with multiple deadlines
- Ability to manage external advisors and ensure high-quality outputs
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Self-motivated, able to work independently while collaborating with teams
- Significant experience of audit process
- Prior experience in Real Estate and/or Fund Accounting (preferred)
- Prior experience in Financial Services (preferred)
- Prior audit experience (advantageous)
