The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.
In this role you will be primarily responsible for identifying, assessing and managing investment risks taken across multi-asset portfolios within EMEA. You will therefore need an understanding of different risk management techniques, as well as an understanding about equity, fixed income and derivatives instruments.
Strong interpersonal skills are required in this role as you will be asked to communicate risk related issues to all levels of the business, including partnering with portfolio managers by challenging and influencing portfolio exposures, risk drivers, and investment decisions. You will be expected to deliver consistently good results on numerous projects and so the ability to effectively manage workload and time is important.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Undertaking detailed forward looking risk analysis on multi-asset portfolios and communicate findings with fund managers, team members and senior management.
- Review that all supported products and mandates adhere to internal investment risk guidelines while raising appropriate levels of challenge where necessary.
- Lead regular investment risk meetings with fund managers discussing and explaining the different drivers of investment risk, including liquidity and ESG related risks.
- Representing MA Investment Risk at key meetings and committees around the business, contributing to the wider success of the business, as well as engaging with various stakeholders.
- Further developing the strong relationship with the MA investment teams, helping them drive good risk adjusted returns.
- Collaborating with colleagues in the maintenance and enhancement of current risk management processes.
- Innovating new tools and techniques to improve risk management processes or provide additional insight into portfolios.
- Supporting the business with value adding quantitative analysis.
- Working closely with the product development team to help them develop and launch new products.
- Developing an effective working relationship with the client relationship team to help support new client initiatives and being able to discuss risk management with investors and other relevant third parties.
It would be great if you also had:
- A proactive self-starter with a strong academic record in a quantitative field.
- Experience in a relevant role; ideally within an investment risk management function covering multi-asset or fixed income portfolios.
- A robust understanding of financial markets and risk management techniques with the ability to challenge fund managers.
- A sound understanding of financial instruments and portfolio construction.
- An understanding of multi-asset products, asset allocation practices, and market trends in this space strongly desirable.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with the confidence to communicate complex risk related issues effectively to all levels in the business.
- Strong technical skills with hands on experience using risk management models/software (Experience with Aladdin/factor models and Python desirable).
