Americold – Helping our customers Feed the World. Here at Americold Spalding, we are now recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer. As a Maintenance Engineer, your role will be to assist the Engineering Manager with the daily function of running the Maintenance department. You will deal with mechanical, electrical and refrigeration planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across the site to ensure equipment is fit-for-purpose and downtime is kept to a minimum.
This position will require you to control and supervise external contractors to ensure Americold H&S policies are always met and adhered to, and to ensure the department’s risk assessments and SOPs are updated and compliant. You will drive KPI targets through continuous improvement within the maintenance team and assess individual training needs, implementing development plans for each team member.
Experience Required Skill / Knowledge:
- Understanding of Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance
- Ammonia knowledge
- Warehouse/Distribution knowledge/experience
- Computer knowledge, Windows, Excel, cloud-based maintenance software
- Formal Supervisor training
Qualifications:
- NVQ, BTEC, NNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- IOSH Managing safety
Personal Qualities, Motivation & Expectations:
- Ability to operate in a fast-moving organization
- Responsive problem-solving skills with an action-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise accordingly
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5pm. 4pm finish on Fridays.
