Overview
Americold – Helping our customers Feed the World. Here at Americold we are now recruiting for a Maintenance Supervisor for the Whitchurch Site.
As part of the Maintenance team, you will play a key role in supporting the Engineering Manager with the day-to-day running of the department. You will take responsibility for managing mechanical and electrical maintenance activities across the site, including planned, preventative, and reactive work, ensuring equipment remains fit-for-purpose and downtime is minimized.
You will plan and prioritize daily tasks using a maintenance software platform, ensuring workloads are effectively managed. In addition, you will help maintain site compliance with HSE regulations, including Legionella, DSEAR, LOLER, PUWER, and COSHH, and oversee external contractors to ensure all Americold health and safety policies are adhered to.
You will ensure risk assessments and SOPs are kept up to date and compliant, while driving KPI targets through continuous improvement initiatives within the team. You will assess training needs and implement development plans for team members, providing technical guidance and mentoring support when required.
Your role will also involve monitoring inventory and stock levels, ordering critical spares within budgetary constraints, and striving for energy excellence by promoting best practices. A hands-on approach will be necessary at times, and you will take responsibility for addressing disciplinary issues, grievances, and unacceptable behaviour within the team.

- NVQ, BTEC, NNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
