Overview
The Retina Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the Metro BDP & SEC retina team patient care services to ensure quality care and optimal clinical efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manages a team of retina centric employees to include hiring, organizing their training and assisting with onboarding activities
- Promotes a collaborative relationship between retina team members and site clinic teams
- Supports organizational efforts to improve team retention, build a culture of change and promote employer of choice initiatives
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a strong working relationship with retina team providers
- Collaborates with retina doctors on an ongoing basis to ensure their clinic needs from a staffing, process, productivity and workflow standpoint are being met
- Monitors retina doctor templates to assure schedule maximization and utilization
- Reviews and analyzes monthly management information reports
- Resposible for the hiring and onboarding of new staff
- Responsible for reviewing and developing retina workflows to improve clinic efficiencies and patient satisfaction
- Responsible for the management and development of retina team leads and staff
- Create and publish retina team schedules to ensure optimal use of staff and provider productivity
- Oversees the completion of daily tasks for assigned team members ensuring appropriate workload assignments
- Monitor and oversee the medication management (ordering, tracking, waste) of retina medication for all BDP retina locations
- Responsible for inventory and medication management to include training staff on Arbimed and ReQlogic processes
- Train and ensure staff utilization of retina co-pay assistance programs
- Trains, coaches and mentor’s employees for ongoing development
- Fosters development of strong relationships between employees and providers
- Collaborates with clinic managers to rebalance and share staffing resources to assure coverage needs are met
- Serves on Committees and assists with the development of procedures and policies as assigned
- Knows and ensures team is adhering to MIPS reporting requirements
- Encourages a team-oriented environment and follows company guidelines and policies to include our core values
- Participates in on-going training and continuing education
- Performs all assigned duties as reasonably assigned
Qualifications
- REQUIRED – Minimum 2-3 years healthcare management experience
- REQUIRED – Minimum 1+ year Ophthalmology experience
- REQUIRED – Minimum 1+ year Retina knowledge/experience
- Excellent communication skills; orally and in writing with clarity and tact
- Strong human resource development and management skills
- Ability to delegate and supervise successfully
- Management of multiple projects simultaneously
- Competent in problem solving and decision making
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work as a team player
- Computer and technology literate
- Dedicated to high quality patient care
