Responsibilities
- Mechanical ventilation management
- Arterial blood gas draws
- Airway management (bag/mask ventilation, suction, intubation assistance)
- Administration of respiratory medications
- Interpretation of flow, volume, and pressure‑volume curves for ventilator patients
- Translation of medication dosing for neonatal and pediatric patients
- Assist in orientation and training of new employees and students
- Adhere to facility dress code and infection control, safety, and risk management policies
- Participate in department in‑services, staff meetings, and continuous quality improvement activities
Qualifications
- Graduate of a COARC‑accredited Respiratory Care Program with a CRT credential per NBRC guidelines
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience in a hospital setting
- Active state license required if applicable
- Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, NRP, and either RRT or CRT
- Experience with pulmonary diagnostics preferred
- Experience with cardiac diagnostics (EKG, Holter monitor, event monitor, cardiac stress testing) preferred
