Overview:
First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic national construction business who are looking to recruit a Planning Engineer on a permanent basis due to growth based at their Workington depot.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare overall programmes, updates and submissions fully compliant with the Contract.
- Resource loading programmes, preparation of schedules and reports required to support the programme.
- Review Weekly look ahead programmes provided by Package Managers.
- Collaboration with other designers, contractors and stakeholders.
- Feasibility and option selection planning and programmes.
- Change control, assessment and implementation.
- Schedule and communicate prelims and temporary works considered necessary to achieve the programme.
- Allowances in the programme for risk, HSQE, environmental and other constraints.
- Collaborate with Planning Manager and others to ensure efficient resourcing across multiple projects.
- Ensure all planning process and procedures are implemented.
- Plausibility review of own and others programmes.
- Provide planning advice and direct help to the sector leader, our clients and contractors, including input into the preparation of task and project quotations.
- Weekly planning, progress and coordination meetings, risk reduction meetings and progress reporting.
- Prepare visual material in support of planned methods and undertake programme risk analysis, contribute to 4D time sequence planning using Syncro or similar applications.
- Review daily records and highlight areas of concern regarding construction progress, scope changes, instructions and causes of delay and contribute to evaluation of cost, time and HSEQ impacts.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in an infrastructure engineering discipline.
- Min 3 years experience preparing project programmes for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Contractor using planning software and applications.
- Understanding of the relevant Conditions Of Contract with experience implementing the clauses relevant to planning.
- Understanding of the specific Contract additional clauses or contract amendments.
- Familiar with Client planning and project control policies and procedures.
- Familiar with the relevant stakeholder and other approval authority procedures.
- Ability to prepare own schedule of quantities, outputs, rates and durations.
- Current certified training in planning and use of applicable software is desirable.
- Understanding of Client gated project process, site licence conditions and Client platforms / applications.
