Location: Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.
Responsibilities:
- Design, manufacture, verification, validation, and life‑cycle support of test jigs at board, sub-system, and product level.
- Research latest technologies and support equipment to improve test coverage, reduce test time and save costs.
- Manage the Product Test Design team to deliver test jigs on time and on budget.
- Design and develop functional test equipment for new and existing boards and products.
- Develop hardware for board test jigs and system functional jigs and write control software.
- Provide ongoing test support to production and external board suppliers to ensure continuity.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop robust, scalable test solutions.
- Manage multiple hardware and software test applications, ensuring documentation and version control to the highest standard.
- Coach and mentor junior team members to maximize performance.
- Create user instruction documents for all test jigs and functional jigs.
Qualifications:
- Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or higher (Certified LabVIEW Architect) – preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills – able to discuss technical and non‑technical issues with team members, suppliers, customers, and senior management.
- Strong leadership and coaching experience, with a track record of growing a team.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Outgoing personality and good listener.
- Minimum 10 years working with design teams to implement test solutions for high‑volume products.
- Experience with hardware interface design and wiring of board test jigs and system functional jigs.
- Capability to design hardware to measure low voltages and microamp current levels.
- Familiarity with radio technologies such as GNSS, ISM and GSM, and ability to interface and control radio equipment for product system measurements.
