An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy at its Watford office. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects across sectors including infrastructure, residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
The Role
You will be responsible for supporting and delivering geotechnical and geo-environmental assessments from initial site investigation through to design and reporting. The role involves both office-based analysis and site-based work, offering a balanced and engaging workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, supervising, and interpreting ground investigations
- Producing factual and interpretative reports
- Undertaking geotechnical design (foundations, earthworks, retaining structures)
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and health & safety regulations
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related field
- Relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or ground investigation
- Working knowledge of UK standards and guidance
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Progression towards chartership (ICE/GeolSoc or similar)
- Experience with geotechnical software packages
