An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy at its Watford office. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects across sectors including infrastructure, residential, commercial, and industrial developments.

The Role

You will be responsible for supporting and delivering geotechnical and geo-environmental assessments from initial site investigation through to design and reporting. The role involves both office-based analysis and site-based work, offering a balanced and engaging workload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, supervising, and interpreting ground investigations
  • Producing factual and interpretative reports
  • Undertaking geotechnical design (foundations, earthworks, retaining structures)
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and health & safety regulations

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related field
  • Relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or ground investigation
  • Working knowledge of UK standards and guidance
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Progression towards chartership (ICE/GeolSoc or similar)
  • Experience with geotechnical software packages
