Location: Salford, Greater Manchester
Hours: 40 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
Responsibilities:
- As Engineer, you will work within the Civil Engineering team, supporting the National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework contract by producing highways designs, drawings, reports and documentation in accordance with the brief, timescales and budgetary allocation.
- Preparing preliminary and detailed designs following approved procedures for local and national authorities, and supporting the Senior Engineer on design duties such as producing design schedules, health, safety and welfare contract documentation in line with the Construction, Design & Management Regulations 2015 and associated drawings.
- Delivering technical and feasibility studies that satisfy the client’s technical specifications.
- Assessing potential risks, materials and costs, complying with company and client guidelines and regulations including permits and safety, delivering technical files and other required documents, conducting on-site investigations and analysing data (maps, reports, tests, drawings).
- Contributing to technical excellence and innovation, providing innovative solutions to engineering problems, complying with SHEMS and KDTS IMS, agreeing delivery targets and reporting progress towards milestones, and mentoring junior staff.
- Maintaining good relations with clients and authorities, attending meetings as necessary, promoting health & safety in the workplace, and setting a good example for other employees.
Qualifications:
- This role is suitable for candidates who hold or are working toward IEng / CEng membership or equivalent professional status.
- Have a competent and strong working knowledge of civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD.
